2 oz Barr Hill Honey  gin

1 oz Domaine Canton ginger liqueur

1 oz lemon  juice

Shake with ice

Garnish with orange or lemon rind

Equipment

Shaker with strainer

Citrus juicer

Chilled coupe glass

Recipe

Once again this drink is super easy to make because it follows the simple sour formula. 2 ounces of spirit (good gin), 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice, and one ounce of something sweet - in this case the very extravagant Domaine Canton ginger liqueur. Just combine with plenty of ice and shake and strain into your chilled coupe. Garnish with lemon or orange rind strips.

If you don’t want to spend your money on a liqueur you will use only occasionally, make your own ginger syrup (see other blog post). Making your own syrup also cuts the ABV level as well - the liqueur makes this drink boozy!

Another variation - If you like ginger, you might also like a drink I created called “Not MaryAnn”. Just modify the recipe above using the homemade ginger syrup and a few crushed basil leaves from your garden. Switch out the lemon juice for lime, if you prefer.
